"The Oprah Winfrey Show" finale will be aired on Wednesday.

Hundreds of fans flocked in Chicago to witness the final episode of “The Oprah Winfrey Show”. History marked on Tuesday as Oprah Winfrey, being the talk show queen, finally stood for her last taping.

The Harpo Productions announced that the The Oprah Winfrey Show Tuesday taping will be its last episode. It will be aired on Wednesday.

During the finale, Oprah emphasized how she valued her viewers who have been loyal all through her 25 meaningful years being a television icon.

Oprah had teary eyes as she delivered her final thank you on the set. She kissed and hugged Stedman Graham who had been her long-time partner and headed her way through the Harpo Studios halls to bid goodbye to all her staff.

Among the loyal audience was the 32-year-old Amy Korin from Chicago who described that Oprah kept on saying the lines, “We did it! We did it!” while giving high-fives to the employees. Korin also described the event saying that there were “a lot of crying and hugs”.

Some of the viewers on the set even travelled a long way and earnestly lined to get tickets just to be present on Oprah’s final show. One of them is Sarah Cranley, 32, who was said to travel all the way from Pittsburgh and tried her luck to get a ticket to witness the said taping in Chicago.

During the show, there was a single chair prepared on stage for Oprah Winfrey. However, the audience members said that Oprah still stood most of the time.

A sense of gratitude surrounded the set when the final taping of The Oprah Winfrey Show went through.

According to many fans, they went through the normal ticketing process by an online submission of their names in order to attend the final taping. Some even wrote letters explaining their reasons why they have been the fans of Oprah Winfrey.

It was in November 2009 that Oprah mentioned that her popular talk show would end after 25 years. The final episode of “The Oprah Winfrey Show” held on Tuesday was secretly kept that even the Harpo Studios just advertised as a merely television event.

For the past few events before the last show, big personalities were invited to highlight the show. Highlighting the show included famous political icons such as President Barack Obama, his first lady Michelle Obama and former President George W. Bush. The family of the late Michael Jackson were also been one of the highlighted events.

In 1984, Winfrey is already a television journalist when she came to Chicago for WLS-TV’s morning talk show called “A.M. Chicago”. The said show ranked 1 in the market after a month. After one year, it was then renamed as “The Oprah Winfrey Show”.

Last January 1 of this year, the birth of Oprah Winfrey Network came as Oprah herself launched the said network that is based in Los Angeles.
