Sony Announced the Restoration of online PlayStation video game network.

Last Sunday, Sony has announced that they already begin restoring it’s online PlayStation video game network.

According to Sony, their restoration phase will start in some countries including the US, Europe, Australia, New Zealand and Middle East.

Due to the huge security breach that was discovered by Sony that led to the theft of personal data from million of users, such move was made by the company and it was done more than three weeks after the said security breach.

The security breach was first discovered on April 20 that theft personal information from more than 100m online accounts but Sony denied the allegation that they are involved in the theft issue.

As of now, Sony said that by the end of May they are expecting that the network, including Qriocity services will be fully restored. But they added that in Japan and in some Asian countries that restoration will be delayed but will be coming soon.

Sony also said that in order to provide users with better protection they made some changes and additional security measures.

Some of the changes made by Sony are increased encryption level and additional firewalls.

Sony’s executive deputy president, Kazuo Hirai said that he would like to send his sincere apologies for the inconvenience this incident has caused to the users and he wants to thank for all the kind patience they have showed while the company worked through the restoration process.

Hirai added that the company is already taking an aggressive action to resolve the issue and they are trying their best to provide their customer the full time protection which is a company wide commitment.

Upon the restoration phase, Sony will offer a welcome back package for all the user that include some premium content.
