Nestlé Philippines is recalling a number of its Maggi beef and chicken noodles for possible salmonella contamination.

According to Nestlé Philippines, salmonella content where found in their product particularly in 2 batches of noodle products which is in beef variant.

The company has immediately ordered to remove all their products in the market which is contaminated by salmonella for precautionary measure and safety of the consumers.

For those consumers who already bought the said product, Nestlé Philippines has provided a hotline number where they can call. For Metro Manila they can call at this number 898-0061 and 1-800-100-637853 (provinces, toll-free).

Despite the fact that salmonella can be killed if the food will be cooked properly yet Nestlé choose to inform it to the Food and Drug Administration and recall their products for the safety of its consumer.

Person who will take in products with salmonella would typically suffer intestine problems causing vomiting, fever and other symptoms.

Director of FDA, Suzette Lazo explained that it is the responsibility of the company to inform the FDA and the public if there are any irregular content found in their products that could harm the consumers.

According to FDA, the salmonella content where said to be found in the ingredients used in cooking the noodles as its flavoring.

Lazo also added that the same flavor enhancer was recalled in the United States.

The Food and Drug Administration (FDA) has currently released a warning to the customer and trying to conduct some test in similar noodle products in the market to see if there are contaminations.
