
Willie Revillame appealed to his critics not to pulverize him and defended himself saying he was not that bad person and he just want to help poor people.
Willing Willie the show being hosted by Willie Revillame in the network TV5 was suspended for two weeks starting on Monday in reaction to a host of critics and detractors.
In an interview with Willie, he said that he will file a libel case to those showbiz personalities who had posted negative comments against him on the web.
On the end of his show “Willing Willie” last friday, Revillame delivered an emotional 25-minute speech and accused those celebrities who judge him in the microblogging site Twitter, among those celebrities he mentioned are Lea Salonga, Jim Paredes, Aiza Seguerra, Tuesday Vargas, Agot Isidro, Mylene Dizon and Bianca Gonzales.
Willie Revillame questioned those people who prejudge him saying that they belong to the same industry, and instead of judging him, they should have helped him in reaching out to our poor Filipino citizens. He said that they have destroyed him as a person. “You should first look in the mirror and ask yourself this question: What have you done for your country?” Willie said.
TV5’s plan to charge the blogger and culture critic John L. Silva with libel is also supported by Willie Revillame.
In the site of John L. Silva the www.johnsilva.blogspot.com, he addressed Willie Revillame and the TV5 network as pedophiles in connection with the said exploitation of Willie to a 6 years old boy contestant who performed “Macho Dance” in his show Willing Willie.
Such incident to Willie’s show has earned a lot of critics to the viewers and different agencies in the government including the Commission on Human Rights, Movie and Television Review and Cl(–foul word(s) removed–)ification Board, Department of Social Welfare and Development and even from the Catholic Bishops Conference of the Philippines.
Five major sponsors of the Show have already pulled out their ads including the Jollibee Foods Corp., Del Monte Pacific Ltd., Procter and Gamble Philippines, Unilever Philippines and Foodsphere Inc.
Revillame expressed his deepest sorrow and sadness to the statement released by the Procter and Gamble and Mang Inasal that hurt him personally.
