Jack Dorsey the current CEO of Square have decided to rejoin Twitter the company he co-founded with Biz Stone and Evan Williams. Twitter was a mobile social network service and micro blogging site that was launched on July 15, 2006.
Twitter with an estimated 200 million users worldwide became household names especially for those celebrities who had a huge following on the internet. It was the fastest way of communication between artists and their fans.
For the last few weeks there were already expectations that the company’s co-founder will return to Twitter but nobody could confirm the veracity of the report. Finally on March 28, 2011 he finally decided to return to Twitter after he received a tweet from the company’s Chief Executive Dick Costolo.
In a tweet from David Costolo in Monday morning, he writes: “Excited that Twitter Chairman will be returning to the company day-to-day leading product as Executive Chairman.”
In response to the tweet Jack Dorsey have replied and was quoted as: “Today I’m thrilled to get back to work at @Twitter leading product as Executive Chairman. And yes: leading @Square forevermore as CEO. 200%”
Square was a mobile payment company that charged by using smartphones and tablet computers instead of cash registers and credit cards. Jack Dorsey was the CEO and co-founder with Jim McKelvey.
Jack Dorsey’s return to twitter will restructured the top key persons in Twitter. He will served as Executive Chairman and Head of Product Development. Dick Costolo will be the Chief Executive Officer. Co-founder Biz Stone as Creative Director and Evan Williams as Director.
