Philippine Azkals will face Myanmar White Angels today, March 21, 2011 scheduled at around 5:00 P.M. Philippine Time. The first match of Philippine Azkals in the Group Stage of AFC Challenge Cup will be held at the Youth Training Center in Rangoon, Myanmar.

According to Dan Palami, team manager of Philippine Azkals, the team was preparing for a 4-5-1 formation on their game against Myanmar White Angels. Neil Etheridge will be in-charge of the goal after an absent against Mongolia.

The final line-up of Azkals will be spearheaded by the best players ever combined on Philippine Football although without the service of Phil Younghusband who have suffered an injury.

The center of defense will be Gier and del Rosario, Gener at the right back and Jonsson at the left. Simon Greatwich and Team-Captain Ally Borromeo will play as holding midfielders. Chieffy Caligdong will be playing on the wings with James Younghusband to create chances for the lone striker of the team Ian Araneta.

The new recruit from Spain, Fil-Spanish footballer Angel Guirado who stands at 6’3 will be doing his chores as he was (–foul word(s) removed–)ign as the attacking midfielder. He will create more rooms for the other Azkals to play their best as they face not only the Myanmar White Angels but the crowd as well.

German coach Michael Weiss was emphasizing to his team the importance of defense for they are playing against home court advantage.

The live coverage of the game was still under negotiation with the Myanmar government. According to the latest tweets by Chino Trinidad and he was quoted as saying “we can only enter as tourists not as journalists”. The government of Myanmar was very strict on international television coverage.
