Ateneans Dominated 2010 Bar Exams of the Philippines: ‘The Top Ten’

Atenean graduates do extremely well over 982 p(–foul word(s) removed–)ers out of 4,847 who took the 2010 ‘Bar Examinations’, the ‘Supreme Court’ (SC) announced yesterday.

Five graduates from Ateneo de Manila led the success of a new batch of Filipino lawyers in spite of a grenade explosion that left some 50 people injured during the examination day.

Successful Bar examination p(–foul word(s) removed–)ers represents 20.26-percent only of the overall number of law graduates who took the ‘Bar exams’ last year, and this is the lowest average compared last 10-years, said the Supreme Court.

The result was announced visibly before the crowd about 5:30 p.m. by ‘(–foul word(s) removed–)ociate Justice Conchita Carpio-Morales’, chair of the Committee on 2010 Bar Examinations.

Top-One among the list of p(–foul word(s) removed–)ers is ‘Cesareo Antonio Singzon Jr.’ from Ateneo de Manila University Law School with an average score of 89-percent.

In 2007 was the last remembered to top the Bar exams from Ateneo in the person of ‘Mercedita Ona’.

Schoolmate ‘Filemon Ray Javier’ with an average of 86.95-percent followed Singzon in the rank.

From Arellano University ‘Paolo Carlo Tolentino’ with 86.8-percent was the third place. Fourth placed was ‘Janette Ancog’ of Ateneo de Davao University with 85.9-percent, followed by ‘Johana Sunga’, in the fifth placed with 85.85-percent who is another Ateneo graduate.

The four deserved p(–foul word(s) removed–)ers to complete the set of top ten were graduates from the University of the Philippines (UP) College of Law. ‘Krizelle Marie Poblacion’ was in sixth place with 85.65-percent, ‘Ma. Christina Ortua’ and ‘Krystal Lyn Uy’ tied for seventh place with 85.05-percent, and ‘Joanna Eileen Capones’ in eighth place with 84.8-percent.

‘William Benson Gan’ is another bet from Ateneo who is the ninth placed with 84.75-percent.

From San Carlos University of ‘Glenn Carampatana’ and ‘Darren Salipsip’ of Arellano University were tied in 10th place with 84.55 percent

Out of 5,038 total applicants to the ‘2010 Bar exams’, seven among of them were disqualified and 19 back-out. The remaining 4,847 determined examinees completed the 4- Sundays of the examinations.

The oath taking was announced by Justice Morales on April 14 at 10 a.m. at the ‘Philippine International Convention Center’ for the new successful Bar candidates
