A fire in Quezon City, Philippines caught six people at around 2 a.m. when an explosion was heard within the garage of Sedilla residence.

Those who were caught on fire were the Sedilla family namely Dr Elson and Susan Sedilla including their two daughters 20 year-old Janina Nicole and Patricia Ann who is 17 years old. Their two housekeepers identified to be Ana de Leon, 27 with Len de Leon, 30, also died as they were reported to have been trapped within the burning house situated in Barangay Central in Quezon City.

Dr Elson Sedilla is a cardiologist while his wife Dr Susan Sedilla is a non-practicing pediatrician. The couple were both 50 years old.

It was said that the fire originated inside the privately-owned car of the Sedilla family as it immediately scattered throughout their second floor. The vehicle was identified to be a Hyundai Starex.

Neighbors of the victims panicked as the fire-fighters immediately responded until the fire had stopped at around 4 am. Luckily, the residences close to the burning house survived from the incident.

Meanwhile, the victims were rushed to the nearby hospital while an arson investigation conducted by the authorities proceeded.

One of those who conducted further investigations were PO3Venirando Trago who reported that the victims tried to cover one from the other to shield themselves from fire.

Mila Anige, one of Sedilla’s neighbors said that earlier she had heard screams and shouts of a woman but it faded after a couple of seconds. Investigators also discovered that the main gate of the house was left open that night.
