Tsunami Warning in the Philippine East Coast

After Japan was struck by a 13-foot (4-meter) tsunami because of the 8.8 magnitude earthquake, the Pacific Tsunami Warning Center now issued a warning to the entire east coast of the Philippines to be on alert this Friday for the possibility of tsunamis.

The said earthquake has the potential to generate a destructive tsunami that can strike coastlines near the epicentre within minutes and more distant coastlines within hours. Russia and Mariana Islands was also issued a tsunami warning.
