A killing incident terrified the residents of Silay City, Negros Occidental where a former village chief took the lives of at least four people leaving three others to be wounded.
Noel Oro Ayalin of Kapitan Ramon used a 45 caliber pistol to attack and shoot the village officials inside their barangay hall according to the local police.
Ayalin is not showing any signs to surrender as keeps on threatening other local residents. On Sunday, he said via text message that he will be killing more people. His friend Judith Gallego attempted to ask Ayalin to surrender but failed to convince the suspect.
Meanwhile, Ayalin warns that instead of surrendering himself to the police authorities, he rather chooses to commit suicide. Gallego reveals that the suspect is just hiding somewhere.
Because of this, the suspect of Negros Occidental police had been commanded by the DILG Secretary Jesse M. Robredo to immediately conduct a search operation to arrest Ayalin. Charges were already been set to punish the suspect.
Further analysis had been traced by the authorities and it was recalled that Ayalin was asked to provide the liquidation statement of the funds intended for the barangay which amounts to P1.2 million. The suspect has with him the government-owned vehicle and was asked to return them back to the authorities. Officials speculated that this might have been the cause of Ayalin’s brutal killing.
Among those who were killed were the Sangguniang Kabataan chairwoman Imee Occeña and the barangay councillors namely Pedrito Orocio, Luzviminda Cotamen, and Freddie Juño.
Meanwhile, the present captain of the village named Ramon Celebre and his two other officials namely Salvacion Corugda and Lenny Leorca were known to be wounded.
