President Benigno “Noynoy” Aquino III has made his vow to uplift the standard of Filipino living by putting the end of corruption reminding the true essence of EDSA Revolution.
Speaking the people during 25th People Power Anniversary, Aquino attacked the administration of former President Ferdinand Marcos Sr., reminding the people that the EDSA People Power Revolution cut off the brutal regime and Marcos dictatorship the past 25 years.
“Instead of progress, crime increased, killing was everywhere. More than 25,000 people joined to oppose Marcos government resulting crowded prisons are pursued by the military and policemen. Authorities to maintain peace and security became terror to the people” said President Aquino in his speech during ceremonies at the People Power monument along EDSA.
“Filipino realized while the foods on their table were only some, the pair of shoes in Imelda’s closet were continuously increasing” added Aquino.
“Marcos clung to power, thus, People Power became the last choice for millions of Filipinos” he said.
“Now the question is, how can we maintain peace and security in the organization? The answer is a good governance and strong determination to stop corruption. The people are our boss, not the ones who take advantages of their power” Aquino said.
“My dear beloved countrymen, we are now along the way towards progress and brighter future. Let us join hand-in-hand to make our dreams come true” he said.
“But unfortunately, even if there are people won’t admit to this, but surely things would never happen in the past two decades. There were people who betrayed the public trust. The previous administration plunders the coffer of government” said Aquino striking Arroyo administration.
President Aquino promised good governance and to stop corruption. His government will make Filipino free from poverty.
The unveiling of statue of the late Jaime Cardinal Sin was also led by the President Aquino which symbolizes the EDSA revolution at Rizal Park. Ballsy Aquino, Kris Aquino, Pinky Abellada and Viel Dee also joined PNoy.
