We were just talking about yesterday that Pakistan was the only team who wasn’t having any of his player suffered from Injuries, and today we’ve got the news for you folks that Sohail Tanvir is injured.
The left-arm fast bowler “Sohail Tanvir” is out of the ICC World Cup because of his knee injury that couldn’t recover just in time, which he was troubling him for last two years. He is replaced by a another left arm fast bowler “Junaid Khan” who will make is ODI debute as well as World Cup debut (if he is given chance).
A medical panel from Pakistan Cricket Board looked into the management report and concluded that although his recovery from the knee operation was quite smooth, during his tour to New Zealand medical panel observed that he was hindering in mobility when moving quickly or lifting weight and thus he require further additional steps to cure himself before playing. The medical panel and the managerial staff of the team stated that Sohail Tanvir is still in need of time to gain 100% fitness status before he could play any Official match.
Sohail Tanvir was included to Pakistani squad when Pakistan played a recently concluded series with New Zealand, in which he played 5 out of 6 One Day International matches. Although he performed pretty well with bowling (at with bat too) but he was looking rusty, and his economy rate wasn’t as good as it usually stays. However, Pakistan had won that six matches series by 3-2 with 1 match going abandoned due to rain.
AS we stated above, Sohail Tanvir performs nearly like an All rounder, as he scored 14 runs off 6 deliveries against New Zealand to seal the win and also by scoring the final boundary of the match and remained not out. But before that series he was absent from the team from 1 year and at one stage it even looked like as if his career is on stake because of his knee injury.
His elimination from World Cup might have become a bad news for him but it certainly brings good news for the debutant Junaid Khan. He has a smooth statistic at domestic cricket level in all format of the game.
Selector of the Pakistan Cricket Board has faith in Junaid Khan, he believes that the lad has got some great potential and he was impressive at the domestic level, plus he got some real great stamina. He is such good at the domestic level that many were expecting Junaid Khan’s debut way before Muhammad Amir made debut to the world of Cricket but it couldn’t happen, but who knew that he had to make a debut in World Cup tournament instead.
