Senator Antonio Trillanes IV confirmed Wednesday that he received a letter from former Defense Secretary Angelo Reyes regarding military fund scandal in the AFP.

An emissary closes to Reyes but not familiar to Trillanes handed the letter last January 18, 2011.

It was just a short letter, requesting Senator Trillanes to discover the most powerful person at the back of the alleged military corruption fronting former AFP comptroller Carlos Garcia who was been accused of the said military fund scandal.

Nevertheless, more information received by the Senator in their personal conversation with the emissary.

“The emissary confess Senator Trillanes that General Angelo Reyes admitted to him that the transactions coming from higher level is true, but Reyes (–foul word(s) removed–)ured that he did not get any money from those transactions made possible by Gen. Carlos Garcia,” said Senator Trillanes.

It so happened that during the time of meeting, everyone has focused on the plunder case of Garcia and the plea bargain agreement he has with the Ombudsman. From then, retired lieutenant colonel George Rabusa former AFP budget officer come out and point Reyes to the issue of military fund scandal.

On the other hand, Trillanes give opinion to his former military superior.

“If that is the case, ‘why you do not spill the beans on these people’,” said Trillanes.

“I doubt that Reyes will not blow the whistle to reveal the powerful personality at the back of plunder case of Garcia” said the emissary to the Senator.

It was very hard for Reyes to escape the accountability as he was a defense secretary that time, with that situation; Reyes allowed the alleged illegal transactions of Garcia to take place.
