Impacts of Global Warming

Impacts of Global Warming

For the past few days different parts of the world was devastated by floods, rising temperature, melting of antarctic ice, rising of water levels and even earthquakes. Some analysts have linked those unusual activities to global warming. Global warming is an increased in average temperature of the earth’s surface.

Impacts of global warming have been felt not only by the countries that have been devastated by those floodings, rising in temperatures and sea level but also in colder countries which are getting more and more colder and having an unstable winter seasons.

According to World Meteorological Organization the global average temperature was 0.53 degrees Celsius (0.95 degrees Fahrenheit) for the year 2010 and was recorded as the highest temperature. In contrasts the Arctic sea-ice has an average monthly extent of 12 million square kilometers, the lowest on record.

Global Warming will have an impact on our day to day lives. Higher temperatures will cause the melting of Antarctic ice leading to higher sea-level and even causing the disappearance of some Pacific islands. It will cause health related deaths and illnesses and declining of air quality especially on cities with higher gas emissions and pollution problems.

Higher temperature will mean a higher energy consumptions of our electrical bills. It is also connected to our higher water needs. Floods and drought will becoming more and more frequent and getting stronger compared to what we have experienced before. There will be increased in storm intensity. Wildlife biodiversity will be affected also.
