An old German translation bible was found at the St. Paul Lutheran School by a Six Grade Teacher Debra Court . The bible is said to be 340 year old or a 17th century bible. It has 1,500 pages translated by Martin Luther and was printed on 1670 in Germany.

The teacher thought that it is just an old bible while searching for records to show her students. The church pastor, Timothy Shoup,  then sends images to Concordia Seminary Library in St. Louis and they identified the the Holy Bible to be 340 year old.

Experts said that the book is still in its good condition because the br(–foul word(s) removed–) clasps that are still intact. They also said that the illustration were very impressive.

There are about 40 copies of this book that scattered in United States and in Germany, Buettner said.

The church pastor did not know how it was brought there but he further said that the discovery was brought him closer to God.

“To hold something that tells us, in 1670, the same message of God’s grace and Christ, that we tell one another today, that helps me to be even more thankful,” Shoup said.

The book is about to be donated to the library in St. Louis until the 150th anniversary of church in 2013. But they also consider keeping it because they have climate-controlled display box made.
