Hans Michael Weiss was the coach of the under 17 National Football Team of Rwanda. He is a native of Dannenfells, Germany. He had worked also for the Chinese Football (–foul word(s) removed–)ociation and Japan Football League. He was a former interns of Spanish Team, Real Madrid and the popular English ball club, Arsenal.
The 45 year old German coach was recommended by the German Football Federation to oversee the development of football in the Philippines and the mentoring of the famous Philippine Azkals. This is a welcome development for Filipinos who are now slowly giving attention to the world’s most popular sport. Weiss arrival last January 16, is indeed a beginning of a new era in Philippine Football.
Rumors of Mcmenemy’s replacement by a German coach had circulated and spread like wildfire in the internet and its all started with the microblogging site Twitter, although the source of the said news don’t even have a twitter account. Dan Palami the team-manager of the Azkals National Football Team was forced to announced that Hans Michael Weiss will be the new coach of the Philippine Azkals.
Coach Simon Mcmenemy, the man behind the success of Philippine Azkals who have reached the semi-finals of AFF Suzuki Cup. According to Dan Palami, he is negotiating Weiss for some reasons. In the Asian Football Confederation, the coach of any teams are required to have and equivalent of “B” rating from the EUFA. Mcmenemy failed to meet the requirements.
Coach Hans Michael Weiss was credited for establishing an organized football gr(–foul word(s) removed–)roots programs to the Rwandans. He coached the under 17 National Football Team of Rwanda. He lived in Rwanda for more than four years. Aside from Rwanda he had also managed teams from China and Japan.
The arrival of Hans Michael Weiss to the Philippine Azkals will have an important impact on the development of football in the Philippines. With the support coming from the German Football (–foul word(s) removed–)ociation (DFB), the talents of the Filipino Nationals will be enhanced further and are moving towards greater heights. According to a reliable source the Philippine Azkals will also received a total of 500,000 euros as grants from DFB. This was not confirmed by the Philippine Azkals neither the Philippine Football Federation.
