The New Dell Streak 2.2 Froyo with Android

The Streak when first launched was equipped with the Android 1.6. This old version has made the Streak to lack many features and the shoppers reluctant to buy. Now, Dell decided to solve the problem by releasing an update Android 2.2 with the latest Froyo with a customized interface. The Streak is 16 GB internal memory. It is equipped with 1 GHz Qualcomm Snapdragon 8250 processor 512 MB RAM and 512 SDRAM that speeds up along with Google’s Android. It has also a microSD cardslot with 8 GB expendable till 48 GB. The Dell Streak also has real time maps thanks to Global Positioning System along with Google’s maps. The 5 inches WVGA screen is very bright allowing you to view videos, games and movies at a high quality. The WVGA screen is a multitouch crystal clear that resists damages by Corning Gorilla Gl(–foul word(s) removed–). The camera is 5 megapixels rear facing camera with LED flash and a VGA Webcam. The streak has Bluetooth 2.1, WiFi and GPS connectivity. The weight of the smartphone is 220 g.

The updated Streak now allows landscape mode. The operating system performance is very good allowing more smooth usage. Uploading lot of applications would not be a problem. Another great advantage of the Dell Streak is the life battery. It can last 12 hours under excessive use of 3G applications, which is two hours more than the Streak 1.6.

Concerning the applications, Dell Streak is featuring Amazon MP3, QuickOffice, Amazon Kindle, PageOne Personal (–foul word(s) removed–)istant, TuneIn Radio, Zinio Reader, and Nero applications. The mobile has Swype keyboard that allows more responsiveness and accuracy. The camera is missing a lot of applications such as picture quality, resolution, scene mode, sharpness and contrast. Even is the camera is a simple version you still can take 710p 3GP video recordings. The dimensions of the Streak are 152.9 x 79.1 x 9.98mm, which makes it bigger than a mobile phone and smaller than a tablet.

The new Dell Streak 2.2 Android is certainly a way better than the old one. It gives a better experience based on more applications, more battery life and better performance.
