DFA Appointment Sell By Alleged Conspiration Of Local Travel Agencies With DFA Corrupt Officials
Sass Rogando Sasot shared a post of a netizen about the possible collaboration of DFA corrupt officials with travel agencies in selling DFA appointment.
Department of Foreign Affairs (DFA) corrupt officials was allegedly connived with local travel agencies in selling their appointment to their client with an amount ranging from P4, 500 to P20, 000, according to the viral post shared by Sasot.
The statement on the viral post was stating that new passport applicants were required to set an appointment with DFA website before they can proceed to the DFA branch near to them in order to acquire a new passport.
DFA branch will not entertain applicants if they failed to successfully book an appointment with the agency. Also, applicants who will renew their passports were also required to set an appointment with the agency.
The appointment with DFA was supposed to be free, but due to the alleged collusion of local travel agencies and DFA corrupt officials, the appointment with the agency now contains corresponding charges and fees.
The price for scheduling an appointment with DFA was ranging from P4, 500, P5, 000, P6, 500, and P20, 000 is the maximum amount. The netizen who wrote on Ms. Sasot explained that many passport holders were crying because they came from Bicol and other far provinces just to acquire and renew their passport.
If they could not set a schedule with the DFA the next schedule for applying/renewing a passport will be in March 2017. The netizens expressed their sentiments online and hoping that the post could reach President Rodrigo Duterte and immediately resolve these issues with local government agencies.
