Marion Agner: La Salle Graduate Who Inspired Thousands of Netizens Went Viral

Marion Agner, an inspiring Psychology graduate of De La Salle University-Lipa

Marion Agner, a Psychology graduate of De La Salle University-Lipa is currently making rounds online over his viral graduation photo accompanied with his inspiring story that he posted on Facebook last April 4, 2016.

His story went viral which even caught the attention of one of the country’s leading website including ABS-CBN News and as of posting, the photo he shared on the social networking site has generated more than 73,000 likes and 7,445 shares.

“Yes, that’s me on both photos and I know you’re thinking that I look different,” the 20-year-old college graduate said.

“There were times that I would like to give up but I told myself that I need to keep on fighting because that’s the real meaning of life. You need to learn how to fight and stand on your own feet. Having this kind of condition is not a hindrance to achieve my goals in life,” he added.

Marion Agner was born with “anhidrotic ectodermal dysplasia”, a rare skin condition and according to research, only one out of 100,000 is suffering from this disease.

His condition is “characterized by the abnormal development of ectodermal tissues such as skin, hair, teeth and sweat glands.”

“Every person has his own beauty, which is a gift from God. It may not be wrapped in a shiny and smooth sheet, it may not be hugged by sparkling ribbons. But what we always appreciate and love the most is what’s inside,” Marion Agner quoted.
