One of the country’s most prominent box office director, Direk Wenn Deramas died of heart attack. He was pronounced dead at around 2:00 AM at the Capitol Medical Center. The director was just visiting his sibling who also died of a heart attack.
There were several attempts made by the physician to revive the director behind the box office movies “Praybeyt Benjamin,” and “The Beauty and the Beastie,” but all efforts made failed.
Wenn Deramas was just 49 years old during the time of his death, Filipino celebrities mourns the death of an icon in the Philippine movie industry.
Vice Ganda tweeted that Direk Wenn Deramas died of a heart attack while Wenn Deramas friend June Rufino confirmed to the media that sad news of the untimely death of the box office director.
In an interview with ANC, June Rufino also disclosed that the director already underwent heart surgery or angioplasty last year.
The wake of Wenn Deramas will be at the Arlington Chapel in Araneta Avenue while the details of the funeral will be announced soon.
