The most popular presidential candidate in social media, Mayor Rodrigo Duterte topped the Pre-Election Survey commissioned by broadcasting giant Manila Broadcasting Company and its flagship station DZRH. Aside from Mayor Duterte, Vice Presidential candidate Sen. Chiz Escudero topped the pre-electoin survey for Vice President.
Based upon the survey results of the MBC-DZRH the Davao City Mayor Rody Duterte logged in as the choice of 30.25% of survey respondents. Coming in second place is Sen. Grace Poe-Llamanzares with 25.14%, followed by Vice President Jejomar Binay in third place with 18.63%.
Liberal Party and the administration party’s standard bearer Sec. Mar Roxas ranked fourth with 14.92% and Sen. Miriam Defensor-Santiago ranked fifth over-all with 6.22%. Figures showed Duterte leading the presidential aspirants throughout the country, except in regions 1, 2, 3, 4A, 4B, 5, 6, and 8 in which Poe-Llamanzares topped the survey.
According to DZRH, the survey conducted has the biggest random sampling of 7,436 respondents interviewed face-to-face by Emeer 2 Research Services. The pre-election survey harnessed the strength of the largest radio network in Asia, broadcasting over 200 stations nationwide, with its 24/7 feeds heard throughout the Asia Pacific region.
Each respondent was given a questionnaire resembling a sample ballot and asked for his choice for president, vice president and senators. Survey results were weighed against the latest voting population of each province, and has a margin of error of plus or minus 1.14%.
The Pre-election survey of MBC-DZRH was conducted on November 2, 2015, a week after Mayor Duterte confirmed that he was running and before the Comelec’s 2nd division ruled to disqualify Sen. Grace Poe-Llamanzares.
In the vice presidential roster, Escudero garnered 28.49%, with Sen. Ferdinand “Bongbong” Marcos Jr coming in second at 24.62%, and Sen. Alan Peter Cayetano in third place at 18.25%. Congresswoman Leni Robredo ranked fourth at 12.53%, with Sen. Antonio Trillanes in fifth at 7.75 % and Sen. Gregorio Honasan placing sixth at 6.11%.
