Mayor Rodrigo Duterte Urged His Supporters Not to Attend the Luneta Rally

The tough-talking and controversial mayor of Davao City, Mayor Rodrigo “Rody” Duterte appealed to his supporters no to push through with the planned rally at the Quirino Grandstand in Luneta this coming Saturday because he will not attend in the said gathering.

Supporters and followers and Mayor Duterte who wants him to run for President in the 2016 national elections organized a rally that aimed at getting the Mayor to change his mind about not running for President.

In a press conference held at a hotel on Monday, Mayor Duterte was quoted as saying “Stop it, you’ll get nothing from it,” Duterte said in a press conference.

The 70-year-old Mayor has already announced that he is not running for President next year and noted that he will not show up at the rally in Luneta.

According to Mayor Duterte on his latest interview with the media, his decision not to run for President was already final. The Mayor of one of the world’s safest city, also added that aside from financial constraints, his family was against the idea and they were worried about his health.
