The mother of Heart Evangelista, Cecile Ongpauco fully suports Senator Chiz Escudero’s Vice Presidential bid for the 2016 national elections as the running mate of presidential candidate Sen. Grace Poe. The announcement of Sen. Chiz Escudero on his decision to run for Vice President was held at the historic Club Filipino on Thursay, a day after Sen. Grace Poe’s presidential announcement bid.
Mrs. Cecile Ongpauco, one of the most prominent businesswoman in the country was seen at the Club Filipino on Thursday morning where Sen. Chiz Escudero announced his decision to run for higher public office in the 2016 national elections.
During the opening statement of Sen. Chiz Escudero, he thanked Sen. Grace Poe for considering him as her running mate and thanked Heart Evangelista, his mother and his mother-in-law for being there to support him.
Before Sen. Chiz Escudero and the Kapuso star Heart Evangelista got married, the actress’ parents were very vocal about their disapproval of the senator, whom they descrbed as disrepectly and an alcolohic.
The 30-year-old Heart Evangelista defied her parents and stood by Chiz Escudero, prompting her to live independently from her family. Although Heart Evangelista and her father reconciled by July 2013, the actress and her mother only mended ties in August 2014.
The mother of Heart Evangelista was seen during the declaration of Sen. Chiz Escudero’s intention to run for Vice President. She was accompanied by veteran actress Susan Roces during the event.
