Roxas Camp Urging Pacquiao to Leave Binay, UNA

As Liberal Party holds into account that President Benigno Aquino III will endorse Interior Secretary Mar Roxas in the 2016 elections, the camp of Roxas is already building the senatorial line up encouraging boxing icon Manny Pacquiao to join the row.

The boxing icon turned Saranggani representative has been with the United Nationalist Alliance (UNA) of Vice President Jejomar Binay.

However, the camp of Roxas has earlier tried to woo Pacquaio to leave UNA and join LP’s senatorial candidates.

Yacap Rep. Carol Jayne Lopez, friend to both Pacquiao and Roxas, said the boxer seemed receptive to the offer but was “keeping his options open.”

“We are hoping he makes the right decision,” she told reporters.

She further added that it is still Pacquiao’s decision.

“We just want to make sure we did not miss out on inviting him,” she said.

However, Buhay Rep. Lito Atienza said he saw no way the boxer would leave UNA for LP.

He added that he did not see Pacquiao as a “balimbing.”

The president is said to endorse his presidential bet not later this week.
