Police Says VP Binay Threatened To Fire His Men During Makati Confrontation

Following the heated confrontation Monday night with Vice President Jejomar Binay, a ranking official said the vice president threatened to fire all his men.

Senior Superintendent Elme Jamias, Southern Police District, was tasked as ground commander of the Makati City Hall preventing supporters of Binay to enter the premises.

“Sinabi niya sa akin na, ‘Kakalabanin kita ngayon, maglaban tayo ditto. Pag-alis ko, tatanggalin ko mga tao mo’,” said Jamias during a press briefing in Camp Crame.

Jamias was caught in a heated confrontation with the Vice President as he tried to enter the Makati City Hall to show support to the younger Binay.

The police official added that Binay repeatedly jabbed his nameplate and accused him of abusing his position.

Meanwhile, Chief Inspector Gideon Ines said he suffered violent treatment from Binay’s security personnel.

Gideon was also injured during the scuffle at the Makati City Hall on Monday night.

Chief Supt. Carmelo Valmoria of the National Capital Region Police Office (NCRPO) said that a case will be based on video evidence provided by the media.

According to PNP, 12 policemen were injured in the scuffle against Binay’s supporters.
