Furious 7 Soundtrack For Paul Walker Tops Billboard Chart

“See You Again”, a tribute song for the late Paul Walker hit the top of the Billboard Hot 100 chart Thursday.

The song, originally sung by wrapper Wiz Khalifa and singer Charlie Puth, became the soundtrack of now widely embraced the latest Furious 7 movie which is the latest installment in the film series that starred Vin Diesel and Walker.

23-year old Puth tugged the heartstrings of the listeners with his emotional catch who had a friend who also died the same year Walker did. “Paul Walker’s incident was devastating, so I thought about Paul and my friend. I sat down at the piano, played those chords and those words just fell out of me.”, Puth said in the composition of the song.

Puth and Khalifa finally got the tribute song for Walker after beating out a number of artists who also submitted their lyrics and vocals.

The tribute song already earned the most streams in a day and week in Spotify records with 4.2 million and 21.9 million listens, respectively. The song also beaten up “Uptown Funk” by Bruno Mars and Mark Ronson in the Billboard after its 14-week run.

“See You Again” has already sold 721, 193 digital tracks so far and the movie became a box office hit earning $252 million and still in the run.

Khalifa and Puth both overwhelmed are thankful for singing Walker’s story who is now being remembered onscreen and in music.
