Head coach Tab Baldwin recently submitted a list of 26 players to the Philippine Basketball Association (PBA), but the names are yet to be announced as approved by team owners.
Near the end of last year, Baldwin (photo above) was named as the new coach replacing Chot Reyes coming up with his wish list of players couple of days ago.
Aiming to qualify in the Olympics set in China, Baldwin is tasked to bring the team into wins. Baldwin in the other hand is a naturalized American.
The Jones Cup will make way for the team to take a slot in the FIBA Asia Championship, as it is the best tune-up tournament for most of the teams in the regions.
The Phiippine team last reaped the good win in 2012 beating the United States. LA Tenorio won the Most Valuable Player honors while Reyes became the first Filipino to win the title.
Meanwhile adding in the players of Talk ‘N Text in the season-ending Governors’ Cup as Asian import is Sam Daghlas, a former member of the Jordan national team, and Stephan Pettigrew as the American import of the Texters.
