The former depending UAAP women’s volleyball champion De La Salle Lady Spikers will face one of their greatest obstacles in securing the last finals slot against the surging National University Lady Bulldogs who made a tremendous performance for the past few games. The winner of the La Salle vs. NU volleyball game will have the luxury to fight against the depending champion, the Ateneo De Manila University Lady Eagles. The Ateneo Lady Eagles is currently waiting for their opponent in the the highly anticipated finals of the UAAP Women’s Volleyball championship for the year 2015.
The National University Lady Bulldogs never defeated the La Salle Lady Spikers since the year 2008 but the Lady Bulldogs stunned La Salle on Wednesday with a 25-20, 25-20, 25-19 victory, to force a do-or-die match in the step-ladder semifinals of the UAAP women’s volleyball tournament on Wednesday at SMART-Araneta Coliseum.
During the last game of the NU Lady Bulldogs they relied heavily on superstars Jaja Santiago and Myla Pablo who topscored for the team with 13 points apiece while Jorelle Singh finished with 11 points, Rizza Mandapat added with 10 points and team skipper Desiree Dadang contributed with eight points, five off blocks.
The La Salle Lady Spikers had their own showing but they leaned heavily in one of its most popular volleyball player, team captain Ara Galang who poured out 14 points while Cyd Demecillo contributed with 10 points and Mika Reyes added with eight points for the former depending champion.
