Robin Padilla Reveals Production Budget For “Bonifacio: Ang Unang Pangulo”

The veteran action star and matinee idol Robin Padilla revealed that the production budget for the upcoming film “Bonifacio: And Unang Pangulo,” an official entry for this year’s Metro Manila Film Festival (MMFF), cost a whooping P90 million.

In an interview with Pep.ph, the award-winning actor said that P90 million is the budget for the film production alone and the promotion cost is not included there.  Robin Padilla said that their director Enzo Williams  does not uses the usual thinking of, “Pwede na yan!”

While expressing his confidence for Enzo Williams, the 45-year-old action star said, “Malaki ang tiwala ko sa aking director. Sa katunayan, ako ang action star na nagko-choreograph ng sarili kong fight. Pero dahil may sarili siyang fight choreographer, sumailalim ako doon at di kumontra.”

“Bonifacio: Ang Unang Pangulo” will tackle the life of one of the Philippines’ national heros Andres Bonifacio. It will mark the movie reunion of Robin Padilla and his former girlfriend Vina Morales, who will play the role of Georgia de Jesus, the wife of Andres Bonifacio.

The movie which also stars Daniel Padilla, Jasmine Curtis-Smith, Eddie Garcia, LJ Reyes and Joem Bascon will open in theaters nationwide on December 25, 2014, along with other entries of MMFF.

“Bomifacio: Ang Unang Pangulo” will compete with other Filipino-produced films including “The Amazing Praybeyt Benjamin,” which stars Vice Ganda, “Feng Shui 2,” top-billed by Kris Aquino, Vic Sotto’s “My Big Bossing’s Adventures,” and “English Only, Please” of Jennylyn Mercado and Derek Ramsay.
