The Philippine Atmospheric Geophysical and Astronomical Services Administration (PAGASA) announced on Monday, July 14, 2014 that they are expecting, “Bagyong Glenda‘ to hit most areas of the Bicol Region and Quezon Province. Storm signals were already raised in some areas of regions as PAGASA noted that Tropical Storm Glenda (international name “Rammasun) is expected to make landfall on Wednesday.

Public storm signals were already raised in some areas of the Bicol Region, Signal Number 1 has been hoisted over Camarines Norte, Camarines Sur, Catanduanes, Albay, Sorsogon, and Northern Samar. The above-mentioned areas should expect 30-60 kph winds in the next 36 hours.
Based upon the 5:00 AM Weather Bulletin of PAGASA, the agency noted that that Tropical Storm Glenda was spotted at 750 kilometers east of Virac, Catanduanes as of 4:00 AM, July 14, 2014. It was moving west at 30 kilometers per hour.
Meanwhile weather forecaster Samuel Duran, noted during an interview with ABS-CBN that with the current speed of “Bagyong Glenda,” it is expected to make landfall somewhere in Quezon Province and Bicol Region. There is also a possibility that storm signals may be raised over Metro Manila once Glenda makes landfall.
On PAGASA’s latest weather updates, Bagyong Glenda grew stronger, now packing maximum sustained winds of 80 kph near the center and gusts of up to 95 kph. PAGASA estimates that a 7.5 – 15 millimeters per hour (moderate – heavy) rains is expected within the storm’s 400-km diameter.
