Popular and controversial television host Willie Revillame’s contract with TV5 will expire this coming October and and according to some reports he will not renew his contract with the Philippines third largest TV network.
A few days since Willie’s camp denied the rumors about an alleged decision of TV5 management to terminate his contract after he demanded a P90 million a month talent fee, the host made an announcement on Tuesday during his show. He also filed a resignation on Friday, May 17, addressed to TV5 Chairman Manny V. Pangilinan.
Willie Revillame was quoted as saying that “Alam ninyo, may mga personal na rason na hindi ko na sasabihin sa inyo. Ako muna’y magpapahinga ng ilang buwan, ng isang taon o anuman… Tatapusin ko na lang po ang kontrata ko sa TV5,” Willie stated.
He adds further that “Ganyan talaga ang buhay. Kasi kailangan ko rin ng time. Malungkot lang ay hindi tayo magkikita araw-araw. Wala nang sigawan, walang umiiyak sa saya, walang nabibigyan ng pamasahe, walang nabibigyan ng ganito,” Willie Revillame said.
Although Willie stated that he is still looking forward for another show but he also stated that the “burnout” was the main reason of not renewing his contract and not the controversial talent fee.
