The reigning champion De La Salle University (DLSU) Lady Spikers defeated their arch-rival Ateneo de Manila University (ADMU) Lady Eagles during the Game 1 of the UAPP Women’s Volleyball Finals held on Saturday, March 2, 2013 at the jampacked Araneta Coliseum.
DLSU was able to come back after the first two sets and pulled a five-set victory against the Lady Eagles. The game ended with the final tally at 20-25, 17-25, 25-22, 25-22, 15-6.
The Lady Spikers was led by superstar athlete Michelle Gumabao who poured out with 15 points. The Lady Spikers is now one win away to its three-peat triumph after they dominated the two previous championship of the UAAP Women’s Volleyball tournament.
The Game 2 of the ADMU vs. DLSU Women’s Volleyball Finals will be held this coming Wednesday, March 6, 2013 at the SM Mall of Asia Arena. The game will be shown live through the facilities of Studio 23.
