The Filipino Flash Nonito Donaire Jr. will be fighting against WBA Super Bantamweight King Guillermo Rigondeaux for April 27 megafight. The report of Donaire’s next fight was first reported by Ronnie Nathanielzs of Philboxing.
The Filipino champion earlier stated that he wanted to fight the undefeated WBC champion Abner Mares but welcomes the chances of going up against Rigondeaux.
Donaire was considered as one of the top boxers of the year 2012 after he was named as Fighter of the Year by prestigious organizations such as ESPN, Ring TV, Boxingscene.com and Yahoo Sports.
Both Donaire and Rigondeaux had a verbal run-in during the week of the Donaire vs. Arce title fight, this will likely to hype up the fight against the Cuban who has only 11 fights with 9 knockouts and undefeated boxer.
