Philippines Latest FIFA Rankings at 147th Highest for the Country

The Philippines made their highest-achieved rankings of the Coca-Cola FIFA Rankings after September 2012 rankings have been released on Wednesday, September 3, 2012.

The country’s ranking at 147th is the highest achievement made by the Philippines since the day the national football rankings have been published.

The Philippine Azkals victory in the recently held Philippine Peace Cup made their rankings went higher aside from their previous victory against Singapore.

They are now tied with Kazakhstan at the 147th spot, they moved three spots from the previous two months’ rankings at 150th spot. The Philippines is still behind powerhouse Thailand at 139th while Vietnam was ranked at 140th overall.

The Philippines maintained their third place rankings in the Asian Football Federation or the Southeast Asian members of the Asian Football Confederation.

Malaysia and Singapore on the other hand were tied also at 162nd spot. Spain and Germany on the other hand maintained their top spot followed by Portugal, Argentina, England, Netherlands, Uruguay and Italy.

The Philippines is currently busy with their preparations for the upcoming AFF Suzuki Cup 2012 to be held in Thailand. The Philippine Azkals will be having a training camps in the Middle East.

The middle east training of the Azkals includes tw0 FIFA-sanctioned games against 115th-ranked Bahrain and 112th-ranked Kuwait.
