Introducing Google+

Google once again challenged Facebook on it’s dominance on social networking by introducing Google+. A whole new improvement on it’s quest to topple the world’s biggest social networking site. The site was launched on June 28, 2011.

The search giant Google had already try for the past few years to venture into social networks but all of it’s project were not enough to compete against the growing number of the 700 million Facebook users worldwide.

Google+ had so many similarities with the Facebook type of social networking. It is built around profiles with status updates and lists of friends with vital improvements in three areas. Google+ introduced the Circles, Sparks and Hangouts.

Circles were an organized connections of friends in different circles with different privacy settings applied to each circles. It is Google’s answers to Facebook friend’s list but in an organized manner.

Sparks on the other hand, offered targeted tidbits and news items. Members can put their interests on this and you will be  given updated news and friends information regarding your interests and it will be feature on your Sparks.

Hangouts one of the innovation that will definitely challenged Facebook way of communication. It is an easy way to let your friends know that you’re available to chat with the use of your own webcam. It will enable group meeting as well.

With the introduction of this three features, Facebook will definitely be challenged by Google on this area. Video chatting in facebook was only available through third party applications.

Google+ which has a slogan of “Real-life sharing rethought for the web” will definitely challenged the dominance of Facebook although the service was launched initially with invites-only membership and on it’s trial stage an insanely huge demands had forced Google+ to suspend its membership acceptance.

One of the features of the Google+ was its integration to all our Google accounts such as Gmail, Blogger, Pic(–foul word(s) removed–)a web albums, YouTube and other Google service that we are using that was owned or partially operated by google.com.
