Barbie Forteza already thought that she and David Licauco will do another project together
Kapuso stars Barbie Forteza and David Licauco are overwhelmed by the support they get from the fans of FiLay, their love team which started in the defunct Maria Clara at Ibarra series.
Previously, it was revealed that it was not the initial intention in the series to focus on Barbie and David’s characters in the series. However, due to the overwhelming response from the viewers, David’s supposed supporting role became much more important than what was initially made for his character.
In a recent interview, based on the article in Inquirer, Barbie shared that there was a scene in MCAI that made her realize that this will not be the last project of the FiLay love team.
It was after the airing of the “tinatangi kita” episode. In the scene, Fidel (David) confessed his love for Klay (Barbie.) The male character told the female character, “Tinatangi kita.”
Barbie Forteza said that particular scene made a mark when it was not intended to be the highlight. “There were a lot of heavier developments happening in that episode—our scene wasn’t really the highlight—but it stuck with the viewers,” the actress said.
With this, the actress already thought she and David Licauco will have more projects together. “That’s when I realized ‘Iba rin talaga ‘yung David Licauco! Mukhang medyo matagal-tagal pa siguro kami magsasama!’” she said.
Her thoughts became reality as they continue to do projects as the FiLay love team. Barbie said that she is thankful and happy because of this. “Ang sarap sa puso when something good and unexpected happens,” Barbie Forteza said.
After Maria Clara at Ibarra, the FiLay love team is featured in the four-part installment in Daig Kayo ng Lola Ko which will run until April 2.
