The Metropolitan Manila Development Authority (MMDA) will lead the scheduled Metro-wide Quake Drill in the National Capital Region this coming Thursday, July 30, 2015. The MMDA partnered with MovePh’s Project Agos, LGU’s and the National Disaster and Risk Reduction Management Council (NDRRMC) for the biggest earthquake drills ever held in the country’s capital.
The Philippine government through Memorandum Circular No. 79 Series of 2015 also announced the Metro Manila Shake Drill which will be participated by both the Filipino public and private sectors in Metro Manila.
All Metro Manila Schools, establishments and local governments are encouraged to carry out the biggest earthquake drills in the county. Netizens are also encouraged to participate in the drill as they are advised to use the hashtag #MMshakedrill on their social media accounts such as Twitter and Facebook.
The Metro wide earthquake drill be held tomorrow as part of the national government’s preparation for a possible 7.2 magnitude tremor that may hit the East and West Valley Fault Line in the National Capital Region.
