During the Sunday’s episode of The Voice of the Philippines Kids Edition Season 2, the young Filipino-Canadian artist Martina Ortiz-Luis won the Battle Rounds against fellow Kamp Kawayan members Ashley Alcayde and Atascha Mercado. The trio performed the song title “Birthday” which was popularized by international star Katy Perry.

Right after the performance of the Kamp Kawayan trio, Coach Sarah Geronimo was quoted as saying “Pipiliin ko itong batang ito kasi parang napakalaki ng potential niya na makapag-deliver pa ng mas mature na performance sa mga susunod pa na rounds,” Sarah Geronimo said, naming Ortiz-Luis as her choice.
Coach Lea Salonga decided to chose Atascha because of her personality while performing, but the final say went to Coach Bamboo, the lone male judge in the competition as he chose Martina Ortiz-Luis to proceed to the next round.
According to the Pinoy Rock Icon, Bamboo, he admitted having difficulty in choosing from the three artists and he was quoted as saying “I knew it, coming to this point, mahihirapan talaga ako… You guys brought it today, but I have to choose one moving forward, ang hirap nito. I don’t want you guys to cry, please,” he said before announcing his choice.
Martina Ortiz-Luis will be joining Benedict Inciong in the next round as members of Kamp Kawayan.
