Anjo Yllana reacts to the recent Eat Bulaga issue
Actor-host Anjo Yllana has this answer when asked if he will accept the offer to replace Tito Sotto, Vic Sotto, and Joey de Leon (TVJ) as Eat Bulaga hosts.
Rumor has it that along with the rebranding that the longest-running noontime show will undergo, the legendary trio will be taken out. Some reports surfaced that this is a sort of test of loyalty for some of the hosts.
It was reported previously that TAPE Inc., the producer of Eat Bulaga, is now being handled by the children of the company’s owner Romy Jaloslos. The production company and the show were previously handled by Tony Tuviera.
In a recent interview for his new movie Team A (Happy Fam, Happy Life), based on the article in Abante, Anjo Yllana said that he is saddened by the issue that Eat Bulaga is facing right now.
Anjo is a former host of the said Kapuso noontime show. He resigned amid the height of the pandemic because his hosting assignment is always in the field.
The actor-host said that as a former part of the show, he knows that TVJ was aiming that it will reach its 50th year. Eat Bulaga is currently in its 44th year.
When asked if he is willing to accept if ever he will be presented with an offer to replace the legendary trio, Anjo said that it is possible that he will say yes. “Okey ako. Kahit sino naman ang kumuha sa akin, okey ako. Trabaho lang naman, wala namang personalan,” he said.
After resigning from EB, he moved to Net25 and shortly had a noontime show with Janno Gibbs and Kitkat. “Pero ngayon, kung may offer, tatanggapin ko. Kung may noontime show na kailangan ng beteranong Dabarkads, puwede naman,” he added.
Anjo Yllana also has this wishful thinking: “Pero trabaho lang ‘yon. Walang galit at personalan! Again, abang-abang na lang sa mga ganap, ha! Pero again, kung may offer kay Anjo, tatangapin talaga niya.”
