Raffy Tulfo to Require Women to Show IDs When Entering Hotels

Raffy Tulfo Pushes Law to Require IDs for Women Entering Hotels

Senator Raffy Tulfo is proposing a law to require women to present identification cards (IDs) when entering hotels.

Tulfo made the remark during a hearing on teenage pregnancy before the Senate Committee on Women, Family, and Gender Equality. This was in response to an allegation that many youngsters were being transported to motels and hotels by guys older than them.

“Maraming beses na po akong nakakakatangap ng reklamo na maraming minors ang dinadala sa motels at hotels na mga lalaking nakakatanda sa kanila, nire-rape pa because hindi hinahanapan ng ID yung mga pumapasok na kababaihan doon,” Tulfo said at the committee’s hearing.

“So dapat very strict tayo diyan at dapat may mga CCTV sa registration pa lamang ng mga motel at hotel,” he added.

Tulfo also advised that motels and hotels in the country be located 400 meters away from schools. Based on the report, it should be far away so that young people are not enticed to do weird things after drinking.

“Dapat distance ng hotel dapat strictly observed. Hindi dapat malapit sa school. In fact, sa Maynila, 200 meters, so why not 400 meters away from school to make sure na hindi matutukso ang mga kabataan na tumakas at makipag-inuman….at kapag nalasing na may nangyayari na,” the senator added.

Meanwhile, Tulfo wants liquor businesses to receive a license in order to avoid teenage pregnancies in the country. If you sell booze to a minor and breach the law, your license will be revoked for good. You are no longer permitted to sell liquor. He threatened you with jail if you persisted.
