The Talk ‘N Text Tropang Texters will try to extend their finals series lead against Rain or Shine Elasto Painters in Game 2 of the PBA Commissioner’s Cup Finals. The Tropang Texters will try to maintain its playoff surge tonight against the Elasto Painters and shoot for a 2-0 lead against the do-or-die team, Rain or Shine for the game 2 of the best-of-seven title series at Smart Araneta Coliseum.
The Commissioner’s Cup Finals Game 2 between the Talk ‘N Text Tropang Texters and the Elasto Painers will start at around 7:00 PM today, as the Texters favored to stretch their unbeaten playoff run to five counting victories in the last three games which also feature their dominance against the defending champion Purefoods.
Talk ‘N Text open up the best-of-seven series against the Elasto Painters by winning the Game 1 with the final score at 99-92, in a game held on Wednesday night. Although the Tropang Texters won the Game 1 of the series, their coach Jong Uichico, he was not satisfied with the outcome despite the victory.
During the Game 1 of the Commissioner’s Cup finals, only two players from Elasto Painters scored in twin digits and they missed 15 free throws and had nine turnovers, which according to Talk ‘N Text coach, they should have dominated the Painters easily, so he was unimpressed with his wards performance.
The Game 1 victory of the Tropang Texters also kept the Elasto Painters winless against Talk ‘N Text in a total of eight playoff clashes dating back the year 2013 and Coach Yeng Guiao noted that his team need something to break the ice.
Although Rain or Shine was successful in holding down Jason Castro’s numbers, Ranidel de Ocampo scored an impressive 24 points while their import Ivan Johnson had his usual numbers in leading the Tropang Texters.
