The country’s highest executive, President Benigno Simeon C. Aquino III registered his lowest overall approval and trust ratings since winning the May 2010 Presidential Elections according to the latest survey results released by Pulse Asia on Tuesday. The lowest ratings acquired by President Aquino came after the deadly Mamasapano mission, considered his biggest political crisis so far.
According to Pulse Asia’s March 2015 Survey, the approval rating of Pres. Aquino plunged from 59% last November to 38% this March 2015. Pres. Aquino’s Trust Rating on the other hand dropped from 56% to 36% in the same period.
Pulse Asia noted that it will be the first time that Pres. Aquino has not obtained majority national approval and trust ratings in its surveys since he was first rated as Philippine President way back in October 2010.
Records shows that the number of Filipinos who disapproved Aquino’s performance rose from 11% to 23% while those who distrust him increased from 13% to 27%. The approval and trust ratings eroded in all geographic areas as well as in Cl(–foul word(s) removed–) ABC and D.
A total of 1,200 Filipino adults participated in the latest Pulse Asia Survey from March 1 to 7, 2015 or more than a month after the January 25 operation in Mamasapano, Maguindanao that left 44 members of the PNP-Special Action Force (SAF) dead.
