Atom Araullo Disappointed with the Transportation System in PH, Especially at Airport
Journalist Atom Araullo airs disappointment with the transportation system in the Philippines, especially at the airport.
Award-winning news anchor and journalist Atom Araullo shared his frustration with the Philippine transportation system on Twitter. He expresses his opinions about his observations and experiences he has had with the nation’s transportation system, notably at the airport.
This past Friday evening, December 9, Atom claimed in a tweet that he had just returned from a trip abroad. However, he bemoaned the absence of metered taxis, coupon taxis, and the contemporary ride-hailing firm Grab.
“Just arrived at the airport from an overseas trip. No coupon taxis, no metered taxis, no Grab. Wala rin tayong mga bus at tren dito,” he said.
“Basically kung wala kang sundo, you’re dead. It’s been an hour and counting.” This is what a broken transpo system looks like,” Atom added.
The following update on his Twitter account stated that Atom was able to schedule a Grab only after two hours. However, what he saw as another problem was the never-ending heavy flow of traffic.
“Update: was able to book Grab after a little less than 2 hrs. Setting the pick up location to the departures area (T2) worked. Traffic na lang problema, hehe. Wawa yung mga nakapila pa sa taxi though, madalang talaga dating ng mga sasakyan. Salamat sa thoughts and prayers!” he said.
