
United States Navy Sea Air and Land Teams more popularly known as Navy SEALS was a military operatives composed of the best-trained troops in the world. The team although composed of unnamed members was responsible for the the killing of Al Qaeda leader Osama Bin Laden.
The main force involved during the daring raid was the SEAL Team Six, “Naval Special Warfare Development Group.” The team flown to Pakistan from 160th Special Operations Air Regiment, part of Joint Special Operations Command.
The operation was conducted with a time lapse of 40 minutes. It was started when 30 to 40 elite Navy SEAL Team disembarked from a helicopter as soon as they were in a position and raided the compound where they killed Bin Laden and four others who were inside the compound.
There were two thrilling incidents that happened during the operation not during their exchange of fire but during the soft crash landing of one of SEAL’s chopper. Another thrilling situation was after the operation when Pakistan jet fighters were coming to the scene but the chopper had already moved out of the scene and return to Afghanistan.
U.S. Navy SEALS were the best of the best. Their creed is to be “a special breed of warrior ready to answer our nation’s call.” The members of the SEALS identities were always kept as a secret, all these men have done all of this in anonymity. It is standard procedure never to identify members of Team Six.
To be a member of the elite force one must p(–foul word(s) removed–)ed the most difficult trainings any soldiers had undergone. The elite organization was composed of few individuals with extra-ordinary capabilities of carrying its mission. They were tasked with the most dangerous, most daring and most important specific missions. It was not for everybody, only for the chosen few.
