2 Barrios in Cotabato City Placed Under Localized Lockdown Over Security Threats
The local government unit (LGU) placed two (2) barrios in Cotabato City under localized lockdown over security threats.
The local government of Cotabato City issued an executive order imposing a limited lockdown in two barrios. This follows three gunshot incidents that happened on November 21 and resulted in at least three fatalities.
Due to intelligence reports the City Peace and Order Council (CPOC) has received regarding security threats and sightings of armed individuals in the city, a localized lockdown will be implemented starting on November 22 at night in Purok Talitay and Pag-Asa of Barangay Rosary Heights 7 and Purok Masagana, as well as in the perimeter of Fiesta Mall and Barangay Rosary Heights 10.
Starting at 8 o’clock, the aforementioned locations will be on lockdown. to 4 a.m. beginning on Tuesday. Based on the report, it forbids anyone from entering or leaving particular locations inside the settlements.
According to the issued EO, the directive’s goal is to protect the general public from security dangers in the affected locations. Random checkpoints and 24-hour outposts will be set up throughout the city to further tighten security. The reason for the shooting is still under investigation by the authorities.
