The capital city of the Philippines, Manila has been included in the elite list of 30 cities of the world according to the latest studey by global real state services firm JLL. Here’s the List of Top 30 Cities Worldwide:
The inclusion of Manila to JLL’s list is the very first time for the Philppines, which features the Top 30 cities considered as the world’s largest business centers and real estate markets.
According to the 2014 update of the JLL Global300 study, the cities comprising the list have remained broadly consistent since the year 2012, but right now Manila, is a new entrant to the Top 30, while the city of Madrid has fallen out.
The study covered 300 cities from around the world, selected based on an Index of Commercial Attraction which measures an urban center’s economic and real estate power and status.
The Global Top 30 list is divided into super cities, mature cities and emerging citis, Manila is part of the Emerging Cities list. Based upon the description of JLL, the “rapid urbanization is pushing Manila into becoming one of the largst cities in the world. It is more people needing more real estate, but it is not only real estate by itself, it must be adequately supported by infrastructure, and a thought-provoking, credible, sustainable, enforceable master plan” as noted by David Leechiu, JLL Philippines country head.
Manila is listed alongside the cities of Seoul, Shanghai, Beijing, Moscow, Sao Paulo and Jakarta. Other Asian cities on the list included
Guangzhou, Bangkok, Delhi and Mumbai in the list of Emerging Cities.
