Sam Milby talked about getting older in showbiz
Kapamilya actor Sam Milby admitted that he was a bit worried when he started getting older roles.
Sam is now 38 years old. He was 21 years old when he started his career in showbiz through modeling stints and eventually, he joined the Kapamilya reality show Pinoy Big Brother.
From that, he did various TV series and movies. Sam also ventured into music and did some hosting stints. In a recent interview, based on the article in Inquirer, the actor looked back at his career.
Years ago, he did “pa-tweetums” roles and he even became a part of a love team. Now, he is doing older roles and this somehow makes him worry. In his most recent series A Family Affair, he plays the eldest of four brothers.
Before this, in the series Ang Sa Iyo Ay Akin, he played the father of a 20-year-old. “That was kind of hard to accept, although technically, I can actually be his father. You see, it’s really the Philippine market in general. Its audience is quite young,” Sam Milby admitted.
Although he worries about this, the actor said that it’s something that he has always had even when he probably shouldn’t have worried about things. Sam added that he thinks that it is actually the price he pays for being in showbiz because it is not a very stable job and there is evergrowing competition.
He also noted that the pool of actors is growing and the fact that this industry has a young market gives pressure on him and makes him worry that sooner, he might no longer get offers.
Another factor that adds fear to him is the current situation of his home network. ABS-CBN was not able to renew its franchise. However, Sam Milby still clings to positivity and this helps him to continue.
