After the statement of President Noynoy Aquino in his speech last graduation rites in University of the Philippines saying that he is still in favour of the Reproductive Health Bill. Catholic Priests reacted on it saying that Aquino is a bad catholic and his conscience is not yet well-formed.
President Aquino’s declaration last Sunday of ascertaining the p(–foul word(s) removed–)age of the controversial reproductive health Bill by his administration has earned different negative feedbacks from the priests. Fr. Jerry Oblepias, Laguna diocesan director of the family Ministry, said that Aquino is “Misled”, and added that what President Aquino was thinking as ways to solve poverty are the easy and the lazy ways.
Fr. Oblepias encouraged Aquino to face the real issue that the poverty we are experiencing is not because of too much population but because of the bad governance and dirty politics that we have in the country.
He also added that President Aquino’s actions are far from what he has been campaigning back in the election period.
In one of Fr. Oblepias interview to the media, he said that President Aquino has a ‘falsified conscience” and has been rejecting the voice of thousands of Filipino catholic’s who are against the RH Bill, which they believed as an anti-life and anti-family Bill.
During the graduation in the University of the Philippines where Aquino has been one of the guest speaker, he said that he is aware of those people who are opposing the bill but defended himself saying that he was just doing his job as the president of the country and reach out to all sectors and talk to them and explain calmly even if there are some who wants to excommunicate him.
Officials of the catholic church said that president Aquino’s insistence of approving the RH Bill and make it as a law, only shows his ignorance of his responsibility as the President of the Philippines, which is supposedly lead the country based on its rule of law.
Fr. Oblepias is unfair in accusing the President as a bad catholic. It is the government’s responsibility to educate the people of their options on how to do family planning. Now as a Catholic priest, it is Fr. Oblepias’ and the rest of the priests’ duty to educate the people on what is morally, spiritually and bibilically right options to do the family planning. People around the world are educated about these options. Fr. Oblepias, do you think Filipinos need to be ignorant about these options just for the sake of saying we are good Catholics? Fr. Oblepias, are you a good Catholic? John 8:7 “Let anyone among you who is without sin be the first to throw a stone at her.”
Nice blog. Keep it up kid! 😉
