Juan Karlos Labajo captured the attentions of not only the judges of The Voice Kids Philippines during his audition aired on Saturday night, June 7, 2014 but also the netizens and TV viewers who watched him singing his audition piece “Grow Old With You.”

The 13-year-old Cebuano talent charmed the audience and the coaches with his humor and performance during the Blind Audition. During the interview after his blind audition piece, the young Cebuano aspiring singer told the audience that he was named after the King of Spain.
Coaches Sarah Geronimo and Bamboo of Team Kawayan convinced the young charmer to be with their team, before the young boy from the South decided to choose among the two coaches he also shared the sad story of his mother who just passed away last year.
In order to convince the young Juan Karlos to be with their respective team, Coach Bamboo was quoted as saying “Juan Karlos, sa akin ka na. Kasi tawa lang ako ng tawa sa iyo. Isasama kita sa gigs, concerts para matuwa lang ako,” coach Bamboo stated.
Meanwhile coach Sarah Geronimo on her part in response to Coach Bamboo’s pronouncement, she grabbed a poster of her concert and wrote Juan Karlos Labajo’s name as one of her guest star.
The half-German kid, Juan Karlos Labajo finally decided to join Coach Bamboo’s team. A few minutes after the performance of Juan Karlos Labajo, netizens took notice of him and the name Juan Karlos dominated the top Twitter trending worldwide. Both “Juan Karlos” and “Grow Old With You” had more mentions on social media compared to the show’s official hashtag “TheVoiceKidsPH.”
