The world’s most popular British boy Band, One Direction will be having a two-day concert in the Philippines this coming March 2015, but the Catholic Bishop’s Conference of the Philippines (CBCP) stated yesterday that the group should be banned from performing in the country.
According to CBCP Episcopal Commission on Youth executive secretary Fr. Conegundo Garganta, he is indeed in favor of not allowing the popular English-Irish group to perform in the country.
The “What Makes You Beatiful,” singers are set to visit the country, as their fans eagerly awaits their highly anticipated concert which is already sold out their tickets in the Philippines according to the organizers of the event.
The CBCP called on President Aquino to ban the group from performing in a two-day concert in March 2015, as they stated that parents should not lead their children in the “wrong direction.”
Aside from calling for the ban of One Direction in the Philippines, the CBCP also noted that concert organizers should practice discernment on who they should invite to perform in the country.
The two-day concert of One Direction will be held this coming March 21, and 22, 2015 at the Mall of Asia Concert Grounds in Pasay City, Metro Manila. The Philippine concert dubbed as “One Direction On The Road Again Tour,” the tickets for VIPs were already sold out during the initial selling of tickets despite the fact that those tickets cost around P17,950.
